Crosby G-2140 bolted pinned type anchor shackles have been hardened and tempered and are able to meet the resiliency requirements of the DNV Det Norske Veritas, of 42 joules at -20°C. The SWL is forged on each shackle. The body and  axles are in steel alloy. All of the different shackle sizes have undergone individual stress equal to two times the SWL. Shackles of 200 tons and more  are provided with the following certificates: non-destructive test, serial numbering, certificate of materials composing the shackle with its chemical analysis. Cast steel alloy with 200 to 600 tons SWL. Axles are galvanised and painted red.
